WHAT WE ARE
Matthew’s Kitchen is a family-run seafood restaurant built on passion, care, and a genuine love for cooking fresh fish properly. We specialise in fish and shellfish, sourcing our seafood daily from trusted suppliers, including Billingsgate Market, and working closely with local suppliers for seasonal ingredients. From the kitchen to the front of house, we’re hands-on in everything we do. As a family-run business, every detail matters to us, and we take pride in making sure each dish and every guest experience meets the standard we believe in.
FRESHNESS COMES FIRST
We believe freshness goes a long way. That’s why our menu is deliberately kept smaller than many restaurants. A focused menu allows us to prepare everything properly, manage quality carefully, and make sure every dish that leaves the kitchen is exactly how we want it to be. Our approach is simple: source well, cook with care, and serve food we’re proud of. It’s this attention to freshness and consistency that keeps our regular guests coming back.

OUR MENUS
Our menu highlights freshness, sustainability, quality, and flavour. We offer a wide range of fish and shellfish dishes, including oysters, ceviche, lobster, sea bass, octopus, prawns, monkfish, smoked mackerel pâté, our famous fish and shellfish soup, seafood mixed grill, smoked haddock, and our much-loved fish and chips. Alongside the main menu, we also run a daily specials board. Each day, the chef creates dishes based on the catch of the day and what’s freshest at the market.
What We Offer
We offer an everyday à la carte menu that changes seasonally, as well as a two-course set menu – perfect for casual dining, early dinners, smaller portions, or a more relaxed midweek meal. In addition, we have daily specials where each day, the chef creates dishes based on the catch of the day. We run popular weekly specials that have become favourites with our regular guests: Tuesdays – Unlimited Mussel Madness & Sundays – Seafood Paella For Two. While seafood is at the heart of what we do, we also offer a small selection beyond fish, including vegetarian and meat option.
